Femi Fani-Kayode, Nigeria’s former minister of aviation has said that the controversial hate speech bill will get his support if President Muhammadu Buhari, Lai Muhammed and others are hang to death.
Deputy Chief Whip of the Senate, Senator Aliyu Sabi Abdullahi, had sponsored a bill seeking to hang to death, those found guilty of what he described as “hate speech.”
Many Nigerians and others including human rights activist condemned the bill and describe it as “evil” and “attempt to silence Nigerians”.
Reacting to the bill, Fani-Kayode in a statement received by Daily Time TV on Monday, said;
“I will support the Hate Speech Bill if its provisions are made retroactive and if its first victims are Muhammadu Buhari, Bola Tinubu, Yemi Osinbajo, Lai Mohammed, Nasir El Rufai, Festus Keyamo, Rotimi Amaechi, Adams Oshiomole, Femi Adesina and Shehu Garba.
“Promise to hang them first for their hateful words over the years and the Bill gets my support.”
