The President, Christian Association of Nigeria, His Eminence, Reverend Dr. Supo Ayokunle has said that despite the security challenges in the country, Nigeria will not break into pieces as it will surely reach its destination.
He made the pronouncement at the Emir of Zazzau’s Palace, in Zaria- Kaduna State when he paid him a visit in continuation of his nationwide tour.
Rev. Dr. Supo Ayokunle said despite the security challenges in the country, the traditional rulers have contributed in no small measures towards ensuring peaceful coexistence among their subjects.
He commended the Emir of Zazzau for his leadership quality in his domain as many within his domain are progressing every day.
“People from all walks of life want to come to Zazzau and live because of the peaceful atmosphere in the emirate,” he said.
According to him, the Emir of Zazzau has mutual respect for everyone without religious, tribal and or sectional bias.
The CAN President also said, for Nigeria to prosper and grow, citizens must close rank to live together in peace.
Speaking on the issue of mosque demolition in Rivers State, the President said, the quick intervention by the Nigerian Inter-Religious Council brought the misunderstanding under control.
He said on the issue of Church demolition in Sabon Gari, the state leadership of CAN met the Government, and it stepped down on its actions.
The President said ”we must unite and make Nigeria a great nation; also we must cooperate to be friendly to one another as Nigerians.”
Responding, the Emir of Zazzau, Alhaji Shehu Idris thanked him for the visit and assured him of his support.
Emir Idris said his door was always open whenever he needs his assistant.
