Leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, has warned against the use of soldiers on peaceful #EndSARS protesters who are demanding an end to police brutality and bad governance in Nigeria.
Kanu who made the warning on Sunday during a broadcast on Radio Biafra, said use of soldiers against the protesters will result to war.
“Nigerian army will seize to exist anytime they march against innocent protesters.
“If army comes out against #EndSARS protesters there will be a war,“ he said.
He also threatened to unleash IPOB security men to combat soldiers if they kill innocent citizens during the military exercise codenamed ‘Operation Crocodile Smile VIʼ.
Meanwhile, the Nigerian Army has said that its planned Exercise Crocodile Smile VI, has nothing to do with the #EndSARS protests.
“To insinuate that it is an exercise meant to stifle the ongoing ENDSARS protest is to say the least highly misinformed. Exercise CROCODILE SMILE VI has nothing to do with the ongoing protest and the NA has never been involved in the ongoing protest in any form whatsoever.
“So far, the army has acted professionally since the civil protest started over two weeks ago,” Sagir Musa, a Colonel and Acting Director Army Public Relations, said in a statement on Sunday.
The Federal Government had on Saturday warned that it will not allow the country to be thrown into anarchy following the #EndSARS protests.
